Trixie's Arrival [open]

"No i was insulting your own lack of upbringing. Dancing around like those commoner Mudblood victims my ancestors hexed with Tarantallegras to use as entertainment." Trixie rolled her eyes at the immaturity of Baby Face.

She noticed Leo beckoning over and grumbled. People.
She walked over to the group, her social anxiety flaring up again.
'Hey Leo and.. other people' She said unsure if she was intruding.

Her breath caught at Trixie's words. Captain stared down at the floor, nervously fingering the hem of her robes. The normally soothing feel of Pumpkin ruffling her hair didn't console her. Worrying her lips, she shifted nevously as Pumpkin spoke again. A small wince went on her face everytime they said 'mudblood'.

She sat down, rubbing in her eyes. "Thats what I said? Nevermind. Who are you ?" She asks Trixie.

She shrugs "Insult away dear child, you will not get a rise out of me." She turns and pokes Captain "Have you eaten yet?" Downing her espresso she munches merrily on her toast.

She sniggers "Just another Black Val, pay her no mind. She is quiet harmless."

She thought she was used to it, but clearly she wasn't. Culture shock, perhaps. There wasn't any Muggle-born discrimination in her old school - this would still take some getting used to - and her first instinct was to reject any talk against Muggle-borns. However, she kept silent, diplomatic as always.

She smiled slightly at Scarlet's awkwardness. 'Everyone,' she said loudly, trying to get rid of the tension, 'this is an old friend of mine, Scarlet.'

Turns to Leo "A friend of Leo's? Where?" She straightens up to look around.

"I wasn't trying to get a rise out of you Baby Cheeks, i was just explaining myself," she shrugged innocently and turned to the other Slytherin. "Trixie Black, new to 6th year this year, and you are?"

She flicked a wary glance to check whether Leo's friend was a Prefect too before observing the bookworm flinch. Captain would have to get used to the word. It came as second nature to Trixie, especially considering the calibre of wizarding families she socialised with.

'Um... yeah Hi. I'm Scarlet. As Leo just said'
She said, feeling even more awkward but thankful that Leo was attempting to stop her awkwardness.

She gives Scarlet a small wave. "Pumpkin."

She wondered idly why Leo flinched as well. Did she not hang around with Blacks and presumably..ideally..other Purebloods? Surely she heard it on a regular basis. Her gaze landed on Scarlet and a smirk played on her lips at the other girl's awkwardness.
"Trixie Black, enchanted to meet you."

Captain nodded to Pumpin. She smiled at Leo's freind. "Nice to meet you, they call me Captain." Part of Captain wanted to stnd up and demand the Slytherin's take their Muggle born bashing to their table, and the other half just anted to hide under the table. And it seemed the latter was winning. She continued staring down at the floor.

"Another Black. Missed them for many years." She grins

She stared at Trixie. Enchanted? Pretentious much?
'Yeah I'm... pleased... to meet you too'
She turned to Captain and Pumpkin
'Hi, nice to meet you'
She smiled, a little less awkwardly.

She finally notices that Captain was uncomfortable and rubs her back "Hey, what's wrong?"

She snorts at Val's word and mumbles "We could do with less of them."

Captain shook her head when Pumpkn spoke.

She looked around, making sure everything was going nicely. It was a lovely little gathering.

'Aw, come on Pumpkin, some of them aren't that bad,' she teased. 'Sure, Reed can be a bit cheesy, but he's alright.' She laughed.

Her gaze landed on the fellow Slytherin.
"Another Black?" Trix's smile broadened. She was already starting to like this girl. "Do i know you or your family? You seem familiar...perhaps we have met in socialite dinners out of school." Are you a Prewett? Lestrange? Rosier?"

She turns to Leo as she addresses Pumpkin "I don't know a Rees, sorry Leo."

Socialite dinners. The very thought of them made her cringe, and for once she was thankful towards her mother for taking her away from the traditional pureblood scene. No doubt she would have been forced to go to them ... keep up appearances ... form connections ...

She noticed the pause before 'pleased' in Scarlet's reply and smirked inwardly. So she'd picked up on the slight jab. Scarlet's own insincerity was blatantly obvious too. "So what house are you in dear Scarlet?" her voice was sickly sweet, ...it sounded false even to her own ears.

She turned back to Leo all traces of pretentiousness replaced fleetingly by genuine excitement. "You know of my ((insert a relative status here..i don't know how he and i are related lol)) Reed?" I haven't seen him ...well ..since Uncle Lucius's birthday dinner i believe.

She wipes her mouth with a napkin after she was done with her toast and turns to Captain "I'm in need of some new dress robes, the Lestrange family has invited me to some sort of gala of theirs." She sighs is exasperation "Would like to accompany me to Hogsmeade? I heard that there was a decent seamstress there." She stands up and extends her hand to Captain
